We know that during this COVID-19 crisis, keeping yourself and your family safe and healthy is of the highest priority for you. We want you to know that it is of critical importance to us too. That is why we are currently following all current governmental and CDC recommendations regarding safe behaviors. That includes in the State of California, canceling summer campers this year.  As of today June 1, 2020 in Stage 2 under the State guideline the largest group allowed in any setting is no more than 10.

As of today,  I have refunded all monies due campers who were previous signed up.  Please check with your credit card company to confirm receipt for Camp4Kids/Active.

If you have any specific questions, please call us at 714-474-9774.  We’d be happy to talk to you.

It is with a very heavy heart that I must inform you, that after much thought, discussions with other members of the camping community, a lot of restless and sleepless nights, and an extensive and thorough review of the proposed guidelines related to Covid-19; Camp4Kids has decided that in the best interest of all the children, our staff, and all others who are associated with our foundation we are unable to hold our 2020 Summer Camp this year.

We are working hard to effectively adapt to the Corvid-19 pandemic by putting plans in place for camp next year (2021).  We know camp is an important part of every child’s summer, especially in these times where it has been so difficult for so many.  It is the time when the spirit and community of camp are needed more than ever, but for the safety of your child we feel that we must postpone the camp experience until next year.

Furthermore, we do not believe with all the new restrictions in place that we would be able to offer the quality of programs Camp4Kids is known for.

Camp is a magical environment created just for kids where they can explore nature, make new friends, learn life skills, develop self-esteem, and create memories that will last a lifetime.  Our camp programs are designed with the overarching goal to ensure that every child feels safe and at home in camp, feels valued, engaged, and a part of something bigger than themselves. Our mission is to build a place where every child feels welcomed and valued, and where our differences enrich our experiences.  Living, playing and learning together at camp helps kids understand that our experiences - like team building, traditions, values, and friendships— are the things that matter most and help create bonds that last a lifetime.

I am terribly sorry we are not able to serve you this summer. This is an extraordinarily challenging time unlike anything we have ever experienced.  My hope is that we all emerge from this stronger, wiser, and better than before.  Of course, for those who have already signed up here are your options, just let me know what you wish to do.

  1. You can receive a full refund of the monies you have already paid.

  2. Help Camp4Kids by giving us a donation and take back whatever portion you wish.  Camp4Kids has been trying to help others during this time, but our funds are also limited and running low and any support is greatly appreciated and will be used to help others.

I hope and pray that we see all of you next year, but until then stay safe and be healthy.

Making friendships to last a lifetime

Welcome to Camp4Kids where memories are made

Camp4Kids, provides a nurturing environment for campers, enhancing their sense of competence and self-worth. Our goal is to help each camper develop: respect for one’s self and others; courage to face new challenges; lifelong friendships; and an appreciation of life and of family.

Camp4Kids is American Camp Association (ACA) accredited for management, operations and programs, living to a higher standard.

Camp4Kids is a  non-traditional resident summer camp program which will make your child's camping experience one that they will never forget!  Your camper will have the opportunity to take part in over 32 activities and special events throughout the week at Camp Oakes, which is more than most other camps offer in twice the time.
For those going to Camp4Kids - CHOC's, you will have the same opportunities to sleep out under the stars, learn how to cook, and to participate in so many other exciting activities.  This part of camp is for patients and their siblings coming from CHOC.

Camp4Kids' community service programs are designed for older campers (14-17) who wish to learn the value of giving back to their community and helping those in need. These programs are completely voluntary. This program should be viewed as another tool to help participants become more enlightened by the humanity of sharing from their heart, a gift that is free but extremely rewarding when done without any expectation.  For those who participate, they are also given credit for the time they spend helping others.  These community credit hours can be useful when applying to college.

If you have fond memories of going to summer camp as a kid or you are just curious about camp, you're in luck. It's not only possible as an adult to spend a weekend reliving those fun days canoeing, fishing, and gathering around a campfire to roast s'mores, but you can even bring the whole family.

Spending a weekend at our family camp making great memories enjoying outdoor fun during the day and collegiality with friends and family at night. Can you even imagine a weekend without a phone or texting?   By the end of the weekend you might even wonder why you have a phone!
